Villa Jollanda - Brunate, Lake Como, IT

About

Perched in the historic village of Brunate, which boasts a 785-year legacy, Villa Jolanda stands 800 meters above the renowned Lake Como. This elevation grants the villa unparalleled panoramic vistas of both the shimmering lake and the city of Como nestled below. Brunate, once an isolated mountain hamlet until the late 19th century, transformed into a sought-after holiday destination following the construction of a cable car in 1894, which significantly reduced travel time to Como. Today, Brunate is celebrated for its eclectic 'Liberty' style villas and the iconic Volta Lighthouse, offering breathtaking views extending to the Swiss Alps.

Why This Venue?

We fell in love with Como on our last visit to Italy and we wanted to share this idyllic place with those we love the most.

Directions to Venue

Via Car or Uber

Villa Jolanda is located within Brunate, the village overlooking Como, IT and Lake Como. Though the Funicular is the most efficient and scenic way to arrive in the Village, there is a route on the backside of the mountain accessible by cars if you wish to use rideshare, taxi, or driver.

*Further address details will be given very soon*

Via Metro

Via Train

We have found the rail system to be the most convenient and cost effective option offering hourly rides to Como from most major train stations. To assist in order of events, I will start with airports; all routes will go through Milano Centrale.

From Malpensa Airport (MXP)

  • If Traveling from Malpensa Airport, make your way to one of the two rail stations in the airport(T1 or T2).
  • The first section of the trip via Trenord's "Malpensa Express" is on the MXP2 line, which runs from the airport all the way to Milano Centrale Rail Station. The line is 13 Euro and about 35 minutes to Milano Centrale.
  • (CONTINUE BELOW TO 'MILANO CENTRALE')

From Linate Airport (LIN)

  • If traveling from Linate Airport, you will be using the Milan's metro system(ATM). Follow the signs and make your way to the Linate Metro Station. Fun fact, Milan's Metro system utilizes card readers at the entrances and exits of all metros. You are able to use your credit, debit, or smart devices with e-wallets at the reader. Make sure to use the same card used in entry, as the one you use when you reach your destination. Continue in the metro station and board the M4 Line. You will take this 12 stops and exit at San Ambrogio Station.
  • Make your way to the M2 line (Toward Cologno Nord) at San Ambrogio, and this will take you 6 stops to Centrale Station.

Milano Centrale to Como

  • From Milano Centrale, there are a couple routes, but you are looking to go to Como San Giovanni Rail Station. The most direct is RE80 via Trenord Rail System.
  • Make your way to RE80(Subject to change**) (Toward Locarno). 39 minutes and 4 stops till you finally reach the town of Como, IT. Total is 7 Euro for this leg.

Como to Brunate

  • Once in Como, make your way via walking(15 minutes) or Uber/Taxi to the Funicular known as  Como-Brunate funicular. The funicular is a 7-minute ride to Brunate.
  • Once at the top of the mountain, you will exit and walk to the left 5 minutes to the venue.
